Stout! 2024 Tasting, Lecture & Hors d’Oeuvres

Featuring world-renowned beer historian Ron Pattinson.

Join us at the brewery Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 (doors open at 5:30) as we taste 6 historical stout recipes originally brewed at the Barclay Perkins brewery (formerly located in London) with the world’s foremost beer historian Ron Pattinson. We will taste through each recipe and learn about what London “Stout” really meant starting in 1805 and traveling into the 20th century. Ron is widely regarded for his obsessive historical beer research and writing having published nearly four dozen books on beer history. Glenn Osterberg, owner and operator of Abbiocco Pizzeria will be cooking some extraordinary small plates to accompany the talk.

What will we be eating?

-Baked oysters with hop butter and beer-brined trout roe. 

Citrusy hop herb butter, stout-soy sauce brined sunburst trout roe, pea tendrils 

-Hay smoked pork belly skewers, strawberry vincotto. 

Smoked and spiced Chop Shop pork belly, local grilled strawberry BBQ sauce,

-Grilled veg crudites with dips and sauces. 

Harissa hummus, herbed goat cheese, spring pesto
